Hong Kong Handbell Composition & Arrangement Selection 2025

 

This competition focuses on innovative handbell composition and arrangement. Selected works will be included as performance pieces in various categories of the International Handbell Competition 2026. There are no first, second, or third prizes. The emphasis is placed on the artistic value and practical usability of the works.

The competition aims to promote and support diverse creative development among local Hong Kong composers and arrangers, with a special focus on the unique instruments of handbells and handchimes. Through this event, local composers are encouraged to explore the variety and expressive potential of handbell timbres and to create new pieces suitable for handbell and handchime ensembles. This will enrich the local handbell music repertoire and collectively enhance Hong Kong’s international influence in handbell art.

Eligibility
Local Hong Kong composers and arrangers of all ages and levels are welcome to apply.
Participants must hold a Hong Kong Permanent Identity Card.

Application and Submission Deadline
October 5, 2025

Application and Submission Method
Please complete and submit the application form online, and upload the following documents within the form:

1) A clear music score of the work in PDF format (without any name or signature)
2) An audio file of the work in MP3 format
3) A music work introduction or information in PDF format (if available)

The organizer will send the registration confirmation letter via email on or before October 6, 2025. If participants have not received the above document by the specified date, please notify the organizer as soon as possible.
